Israel’s defence exports reached a record 19.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2025, marking a sharp increase driven by growing global demand for missile systems, surveillance technologies and air defence equipment.

According to an annual report released by the Israeli Defence Ministry on Tuesday, defence exports increased by approximately 30 percent compared with 2024 and have more than doubled over the past five years. The ministry said the figures reflect continued international demand for Israeli military technology amid rising geopolitical tensions and expanding defence spending across several regions.

Missile, rocket and air defence systems accounted for 29 percent of total exports in 2025, while surveillance and electro-optical systems made up 22 percent. Radar and electronic warfare systems, alongside manned aircraft and avionics technologies, each represented 11 percent of exports, according to the report. More than half of all defence contracts signed during the year were valued at over 100 million U.S. dollars.

Europe remained Israel’s largest export market, accounting for 36 percent of defence sales, while the Asia Pacific region increased significantly from 23 percent in 2024 to 32 percent in 2025. The Middle East and North Africa represented 15 percent of total exports.

The report comes amid increased global military spending linked to conflicts and security tensions in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Israel’s defence sector has become one of the country’s largest export industries, supported by growing international demand for advanced military technologies, drone systems and air defence platforms.

The latest figures also reflect broader global shifts towards increased defence modernisation and strategic security investments by governments worldwide.
