UN Decries Ongoing Gaza Aid Delays

Saturday 08 November 2025 - 02:00am

The United Nations has warned that humanitarian operations in the Gaza Strip continue to face severe impediments, restricting the delivery of life-saving aid to civilians amid ongoing instability and infrastructure collapse.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), while some progress has been made in recent days, access constraints, damaged transport routes, and unpredictable security conditions have sharply limited the movement of humanitarian personnel and relief supplies across the enclave.

OCHA said coordination efforts with Israeli authorities remain complex, with numerous aid missions either delayed, canceled, or denied. Despite these challenges, humanitarian partners continue to distribute food, water, medical supplies, and other essential assistance to affected populations wherever access allows.

The agency reiterated that current aid flows remain insufficient to meet the overwhelming humanitarian needs in Gaza, where essential infrastructure, including hospitals, water networks, and shelters, has been devastated by months of conflict.

“The delivery of humanitarian assistance must be safe, unimpeded, and sustained,” OCHA emphasized, noting that restrictions on access undermine international obligations to protect civilians and facilitate relief efforts.
The UN urged all parties to uphold the principles of international humanitarian law and to ensure that humanitarian corridors remain operational and secure. It also appealed for additional funding to sustain aid operations and restore basic services for the displaced population.

“Despite all impediments, UN agencies and partners remain committed to reaching every person in need,” OCHA said.
